Grand Canyon Photography Workshop - South Rim

As one of the oldest National Parks in the nation, the Grand Canyon is considered one of the major Natural Wonders of the World.  This massive canyon stretches over 200 miles long, is one mile deep and 4 to 18 miles across.  The majesty of the Grand Canyon with its vastness and intricate mosaic of colors make it perhaps the most photographed location in the world.  The play of light across its grand vistas are unequaled and ever-changing offering endless photographic opportunities throughout the year.

This is a private workshop designed to take full advantage of all the key points of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  This workshop will focus on working the “magic light” opportunities in the early mornings and evenings.  In addition to the hands-on field workshops, there will be ample time for midday image critiques and post- processing sessions to enhance photographic skills.

FirstLight Photo Tours’ Grand Canyon workshop offers a unique opportunity to capture the splendor of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim and will include Maricopa Point, Yavapai Point, Mather Point, and Grand View. Our workshops are led by group leaders with intimate knowledge of the area and exceptional photographic and workshop experience.  Our sessions are highly personalized and designed to maximize one-on-one interaction with participants and further develop photographic skills.

Workshop fee includes instruction fees, permits and entrance fees.  The workshop fee does not include lodging, meals, transportation. 4-wheel drive vehicle is not reqired for this workshop.

Please bring your own equipment.  We recommend a sturdy tripod, circular polarizer and split natural density filter.  Wide angle and medium focal length lenses (17mm ~ 80 mm) are a must.  If you have long lenses (200mm ~300mm), please bring them as well.  A notebook computer with photo editing software for post shoot critique is also recommended.
